Stephanie Launiu's Bio:
Stephanie Launiu is the Executive Director of Kokua Legal Services (KLS), a non-profit organization founded in 1999. Stephanie is in charge of overseeing daily operations, staff development and fulfillment of KLS's mission to work in underserved communities for fairness, equality and justice.
Stephanie and KLS staff are currently working with the Puu Heleakala Community Association to revitalize their neighborhood on the Wai'anae Coast.
Stephanie has been a leader in healthcare management and has served on local and regional boards concerned with the issues of Pacific Islander health, Native Hawaiian rights, women's rights, and prisoner reentry. Her grantwriting successes have brought more than $15 million into underserved Hawaiian communities.
She is a published author and accepts freelance writing assignments that make use of her specialized knowledge of Hawai"i and Hawaiian culture.
